Dr Brendan Haigh is a Senior Scientist at AgResearch New Zealand. His particular research interest is undertanding the bioactive components of human and bovine milk, particularly those related to immunity, and how these activities are modified by processing.

Brendan initially trained as a molecular and cellular biologist, working in medical research, before shifting into the field of milk and lactation, where he was delighted to find a whole new, relatively unexplored area of biology. Brendan has 20 years’ experience managing R&D projects for range of international dairy food companies in the area of functional food development
